1.30 Cheltenham – Vauban – WON 6/4 (Adv 25/1)

Our Ante Post advice for this race at 25/1, so we’re in a very good position with him being a solid 7/4 Fav. Vauban really impressed when winning at The Dublin Racing Festival and clearly improved considerably from this debut 2nd. If was generally felt he’d turn the form around with Pied Piper from the debut run, and if that’s the ace, Vauban would be very hard to beat.

Ante Post Comments:
Friday 18th March, 2022 Triumph Hurdle – Vauban (e/w) 25/1 Paddy Power, Betfair, Bet Victor, otherwise 16/1.

Entered to make his hurdles debut on Friday, Vauban is a very exciting recruit to the NH division for the Willie Mullins & Rich Ricci team, having shown a high class level of form in France on the flat. A winner in soft ground on just his 3rd start, he then won at Listed level next time, showing a really smart turn of foot. Connections have been quoted as saying he’s their most exciting flat recruit since Grade 1 winning Saldier. Not many have put themselves forward as genuine Triumph contenders this far this season, bar Fil D’or the current favourite and Porticello, who won well for us last time; so a big performance from Vauban on Friday, could see his odds slashed for March.
