1.57 Chepstow – Secret Reprieve – WON 5/1

A notebook from Haydock and whilst his fall was a fair way out to really tell how well he’d have run, he looked to be doing everything very easily on what was his first run in handicap company. He’s proven on soft ground and off a nice racing weight with the stable hitting form should run a big race.

Notebook Comments: Haydock, Secret Reprieve
Whilst falling with still quite of a lot of racing to do, Secret Reprieve had jumped really nicely and looked to be travelling well within himself through the race. He just seemed to clip the fence and stumble on landing at the 12th fence, but with the race turning into a real slog, not getting involved in the entire race might prove a blessing. This was his first venture into handicap company over fences and he looks potentially well treated, based on the ease with which he travelled. Still lightly raced, he’d shown plenty of promise over hurdles and in novice chases and is one to keep an eye out for.
