2.00 Punchestown – Saldier – WON 7/1

This is clearly a big call to oppose Klassical Dream, lasts years impressive Supreme Novices Hurdle winner and the current Champion Hurdle favourite. Saldier, one of our Ten To Follow horses and Ante Post advice for the Champion Hurdle itself, has the chance to put his name in the hat. Off the track since falling last November, where he reportedly broke his nose, he was in the process of giving the subsequent Champion Hurdle winner Espoir D’Allen a real race and would perhaps have beaten him at Naas but for falling at the last. Reports suggest he’s in fine form for this return, and whilst he’s sure to improve for the run, we have to be with him against the Fav and even if he doesn’t win the battle here, he’ll hopefully put himself on target for a good season and on the path towards Cheltenham in March.
