Whilst the stable haven’t had a winner in the last couple of weeks, the majority of the runners have run well, so stable form isn’t a huge concern, even giving the fact October generally does seem to be a little quiet, winners wise for the yard. Another Batt himself ran just 2 weeks ago, and from an impossible draw at York ran an absolute cracker to finish in 6th place. He’s at his best with cut in the ground, as shown when bolting up at Thirsk in May off a mark just 1lb lower than he races off today. He’s run just once at Doncaster when 6th in the Lincoln a few years back off a loft mark of 107, has conditions to suit, and should run a big race.
