He showed a good deal of promise as a 2yo, pushing Tommy Taylor close twice over an inadequate trip, and that one is now rated a good deal higher than this chap. He again ran really well on his return to action, just missing out and looked sure to improve for that run. Last time, what could go wrong went wrong, from a slow start, to traffic problems and being unsuited by the slow pace. On the face of it, the run looked disappointing, but those things considered and the way he finished the race, FULL of running, he screamed “I’m better than this”. This trip looks ideal, he handled Ripon well, so the track here will cause no problems and looks to have been targeted at this meeting, where the stable excel at. He’ll also handle any forecast rain; he rates as a cracking bet here, just a pity we missed the bigger prices available yesterday, as he was well supported early on in the day.
