Following a promising one run as a 2yo, he was well touted at the start of the season which saw him backed for the Derby. Whilst he disappointed on fast ground on his return at Newmarket, that race was won by the subsequent French Derby runner, so perhaps wasn’t as bad as had originally seemed. He then returned to Newmarket last time on a soft surface and absolutely hacked up. Whilst he didn’t beat much, he couldn’t have won any easier and is fancied to show those early season expectations weren’t that far misjudged.
