Topofthegame was advised for this race following a fine return to hurdling when 4th to William Henry, when that one did us a favour in winning the Lanzarote Hurdle at Kempton. He was very much in need of that run having knocked himself on his chase debut in November, so staying on as he did was a fine effort. He then stepped up on that when winning at Sandown on soft ground and over slightly further. That stamina will prove a big asset here in this testing ground, he’s still relatively lightly raced and open to more improvement, the stable are in fine form and a big run is very much on the cards. We are giving Fixe Le Kap another chance having disappointed last time as he looked a hurdler capable of a good deal more when runner up in the Imperial Cup last year, the ground is ideal the trip us ideal, he’s had a wind operation recently and the stable are absolutely flying.
