Won his maiden at Ffos Las on his debut far more comfortably than the winning margin suggest, having made up a lot of ground inside the final furlong; looking a nice sort in the process and really appreciating the soft ground that day. He then stepped up considerably in class and ran a cracker staying on very strongly at Epsom, finishing 2nd in amongst a few that are now rated considerably higher than Defoe. He hated the firm ground on his final start and that run can be forgiven. Good reports from the Varian yard suggest he’s expected to progress into a nice sort; he goes to post quietly fancied.
