Looks to have been underestimated here due to the more attractive profiles of the O’Brien horses and Logician the favourite. This chap is a typical Mark Johnston tenacious improver who goes onto this contest with all the right credentials. A winner attitude, proven ability to stay and high class form and coming from a yard that can do no wrong. His last two victories in giving Durston almost a stone at Goodwood and then beating the extremely well regarded Promissory at the same track, make him a major player.

Having not stayed in either of the English or Irish Guineas, this was a fair step back in trip, but she acquitted herself extremely well, showing plenty of pace over this minimum trip against some real speedsters. She couldn’t quite match the blistering speed of the front two, but stayed on really well and in a few more strides would have grabbed 3rd. A sixth furlong would be ideal and she’d be massive player in the July Cup, which we feel would be the next logical step for her where she would get all the allowances for being a 3yo filly.
