Returning to a track that he’s won at over hurdles earlier this season and on ground that will suit, this is a much easier race than the one at Kempton where he ran really well behind a very well handicapped winner. He’s pretty well handicapped over fences compared to hurdles, the stable are in great form and he should and Lord Baddesley can gain his first success over the larger obstacles here.
Notebook Comments:Kempton, Lord BaddesleyHaving disappointed when sent over fences last season, he’s been back over hurdles for a year, so whilst this wasn’t his chase debut, it was still a very deep race for his return to chasing. Given a quiet ride, he warmed to the task and while not getting near the winner he stayed on into a very respectable 4th place. He probably prefers slightly better ground as well and if building on this he should progress into a decent handicap chaser.
