3.15 Ascot, Gerard Bertrand Hurst Handicap Chase – Boothill (e/w)8/1 Bet365, 7/1 Skybet, 13/2 Paddy Power & Betfair, 6/1 Bet Victor.A really impressive reappearance over fences at Newton Abbott where he won with any mount in hand, whilst that was a considerably lower level than this and only a 4 runner affair, the runner up has bolted up since and the form could well be underestimated. He’s always been really highly regarded by connections and whilst not winning over hurdles last year, he ran with a huge amount of promise both at Ascot when 3rd to Soaring Glory and at Uttoxeter when 2nd to Beauport. He’s still lightly raced and has the potential to be better than a 140 rated chaser. This should be a high class competitive field which would see Boothill on a really attractive racing weight. This race has been suggested as the plan and with plenty of rain forecast conditions should suit.Update: Now around a 4/1 chance, he’s off a nice racing weight with Edwardstone running and having won on good ground last time, the drying conditions pose no issues.
