A good competitive Ascot handicap, but this chap could well progress to a higher level. Unbeaten over hurdles, which included defeats of the likes of Western Ryder and Champ, he had a very good first season over fences last season. Winning his first two races, including a grade 2 event here at Ascot, he then ran a cracker when 3rd to Defi Du Seuil & Lostintranslation at Sandown, not beaten far. On his final start of the season he finished 5th in the JLT at the Festival, but reportedly had a rushed preparation. The step up to 3 miles will really suit and he looks to potentially the best handicapped chaser in the field.
