Proved himself to be a decent hurdler having won off a mark of 137 when winning at Plumpton by 9 length beating a horse that had previously run in the County Hurdle and had been 4th in the Betfair Hurdle at Newbury the time before that. So a handicap chase mark of 133 is potentially lenient. He’s got some nice Novice Chase form to his name behind some classy types whilst rated in the Mid 140’s on ground that was softer than he’d prefer. After a couple of runs this year, the handicapper has dropped him a few pounds and he looked really unlucky not to win last time when taken out by a loose horse when making what looked likely to be a winning challenge. He looks like this step up in trip should see further improvement and on ground that he’ll relish. Ludlow are forecast some rain, but it doesn’t look like they’ll get much, so racing conditions should be decent ground.
