Hopefully we’re not undone by the draw in stall 2, but Aldaary is of real interest now he gets cut in the ground, following 3 runs on quick ground. He’d previously run a massive race at Goodwood when the only one to come from off the pace, where both the horses in front of him that day are rated a good deal higher now. Before then he bolted up here on his reappearance, looking potentially like a very nice horse. Now returning to a softer surface he can’t be let to run loose, albeit in a typically competitive Ascot handicap. Al Rufaa is a notebook horse running here, but not sure the ground will be to his liking.
