A cracking race for this Listed event and this filly who holds really strong claims is massively overpriced due to an excusable run last time where she didn’t quite step forward following a very promising debut. That first run was very good, finishing 2nd to the more experienced Firelight who is the favourite here having since run 4th in the Lowther. Lady Aria looked like the best filly in that race at Newmarket and whilst Firelight gave she’d already had the benefit of 2 runs. Lady Aria then went to Chepstow expected to win, and whilst 3rd place pulling well clear of the rest of the field was perhaps disappointing she simply wouldn’t have been suited by stepping back to 5 furlongs. This trip will be much more to her liking and we expect here to go very close.
In addition to our 2 bets for Thursday, we very much considered advising Kadar trained by Karl Burke in the 3.10 at Haydock as we’ve heard very good things about this unraced colt, but the John Gosden sets a high standard having looked pretty decent when winning his debut.
Result WON 5/2 < 6/1
