The likelihood of quick ground with the continued dry forecast, which is what the well handicapped Vintage Clarets wants. He finally drops back to 5 furlongs which is what we feel is his ideal trip, especially on quick ground and he’s extremely well handicapped off a mark of 84 having started the season off 96. This is also his easiest task this season, having contested class 2 handicaps at York, Newmarket and Chester. He blew his chances at the start last time at York, so didn’t really give his true running, whilst he’d shown enough in his three previous runs to suggest he’s more than capable of his reducing mark.
