Bun Doran is our Ante Post play at 25/1 so we’ve beaten the price with him at around 14/1 now. With the ease in the ground he has ideal conditions, a nice racing weight and has a cracking chance. If you haven’t played then he’s most definitely an each way play.
Magic Saint was one of our Ten To Follow and following a couple of disappointing efforts he really clicked last time when stepped back to this trip and his comprehensive defeat of the reliable Gino Trail suggest he’s a very capable 2 miler. Connections seem pretty bullish that he’s better than a handicapper so we have to play and that’s the suggestion we had before the season commenced.
We’d suggest Magic Saint to Win and Bun Doran to place.
Now the quandary, as Whatswrongwithyou one of our notebook horse also runs and he looks to have fair claims as well. Along with Not Another Muddle who won really well for us last time; but we’ll stick with Magic Saint and Bun Doran.
Ante Post Advise:
Bun Doran, Grand Annual – 25/1 Bet365, William Hill, Paddy Power, Unibet.
Although beaten in 2nd place at Cheltenham on Saturday, Bun Doran ran a cracking race and looked to have the prize in the bag jumping the last only to be done for tow by the winner. His previous win at Cheltenham on his reappearance was very impressive and running off a mark 10 lbs higher there, he looks to have improved again. He a really big strong horse that is very much still on the up, he jumps wonderfully well and looks tailor made for the Grand Annual. It wouldn’t surprise us to see him put away until Cheltenham as he wouldn’t want to go any higher in the handicap and he runs very well fresh.
We’ve had a small play at 25/1, but that’s based on our best guess of this being a target rather than any first hand information, so stakes to a sensible level.
