The Gordon Elliot yard are having a superb Cheltenham and this chap looks to have been laid out for this, his first step into handicap company over fences. His handicap mark of 147 looks potentially lenient based on his hurdles from, as he wasn’t beaten far in competitive handicap hurdle in Ireland in September, when things didn’t pan out for him and he finished strongly looking full of running. Just 3 races over fences,, he showed plenty of promise behind Melon on his chase debut, before given a relatively easy time in heavy ground next time. He then really impressed last time, winning impressively and showing a really good turn of foot. He looks far more of a chaser than a hurdler, is still relatively lightly raced and can continue his improvement. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see him competing in graded chases next season.
