The winner of this race last year from just a 4lbs higher mark, he has to be a major player again, having had a nice preparation season here he’s been giving lumps of weight away to a few of today’s opponents. A good run last time in a Grade 2 at Newbury, he’s a big horse and proved last year he can carry big weights, he and the 2nd pulled away from the field, which would suggest the additional 4lbs here may well not stop him.
At the bottom of the weights, Global Citizen is potentially the best handicapped horse in the race and if ridden patiently, is worth a small each way interest as well at around 40/1 – (WON 28/1)
