Had shown great promise when winning his novice race and then following up under a penalty at Haydock, before playing up at Royal Ascot and getting withdrawn at the start. Back on track last time with an excellent 3rd to the very progressive New London, who’s since won the Group 3 Gordon Stakes. Phantom Flight finished his race off very strongly there and would have a clear 2nd in another few strides. This longer trip will suit and he looks ahead of the handicapper with plenty more to come.

Newmarket, Phantom Flight,
This was a fair step up in class having won a novice race under a penalty and he ran with great credit in what looked a strong handicap. Given a patient ride he finished really strongly having stepped up to this trip from a mile. He’s stoutly bred and whilst he’s surely capable of winning over this trip off his revised mark having been raised 3lbs for this run, he could well find further improvement when stepping up to 1m4f. Lightly raced he has plenty more to come.
