8.15 Newmarket – Good Effort – WON 5/2

Came onto the scene with an emphatic victory at Newbury on his handicap debut, albeit off a mark of just 79 in August last year. He was hit hard by the handicapper and set a couple of stiff tasks in pattern company on his next 2 starts, before running really well on his final start off a mark of 100. He travelled strongly that day suggesting 6f would suit and he clearly appreciated the rain softened ground. The fast conditions in Meydan didn’t suit, but he’s shown real promise on both his starts back in the UK. Those were both over 7 furlongs in top class handicaps and in both races he travelled really well before fading. This is a big drop in class, the trip looks ideal and with conditions to suit he can return to winning ways now back down to a mark of 92.
